Augmented Reality (QR)
What is Augmented Reality?:
Augmented Reality is a technology that uses a computer-generated image on a user's view of the real world, thus providing a composite view. Students can use this computer/ phone generated view of the world in education.
How do Students access the augmented Content?:
My augmented reality is using QR codes in a google form interactive worksheet on the four different types of sentences. There are multiple questions and the students must find out if they are correct by using the QR codes to find the right answers. The students would be given the google form worksheet from their teacher, fill out the worksheet, and use their technology device to scan over the codes to see if they are correct. It is a very simple process and a great way to use augmented reality and QR codes in the classroom to engage students in learning.
Instructions for the students:
The instructions that I would give to my students on how to use the augmented reality interactive worksheet is to fill out the questions and to see if they are correct to use the QR cods at the END. They should use their apps on the devices to find out the correct answer. This is a very simple and easy to follow procedure for students to follow.
My Artifact and the Process:
My artifact is an interactive worksheet on google forms on the topic of the different types of sentences and the QR codes are the answers to the questions being asked. I created this by making a google form, adding the different questions about the subject, then using the QR website to create a QR code for each of the questions of plain text, and then lastly I inserted the QR codes as images next to the correct question.
Activity:
My Augmented Reality is a part of the activity of using their devices and scanning codes to find out the correct answers. This is a great way to find out the correct answer while using technology. This will interest students in learning and engage them in learning over a simple worksheet.
How does this Fit into Component 3C/ Elements?:
This fits into component 3C which is engaging students in learning because the scanning of the QR codes at the end of the worksheet engages the students in a different way to find out the answers and if they are doing it correctly. This is more engaging then the teacher telling them the correct answer or the teacher grading the paper and giving it back with simple checks or x’s. This fits in the elements in 3C of Instructional Materials and Resources and Activities and Assignments because the teacher is giving them the resources and materials to complete an assignment but making it into more activity with the involvement of QR codes.

How Can I use this tool in my future Classroom?:
I could use this tool in my classroom in the future in many ways. Instead of only giving back grades and telling them what they did wrong I could use the QR codes to find out their grade or how to find the correct answer. All the students can have their own QR code so no one else can look at their grades, answers, or comments. This would be interesting and a fun way to give back grades to the students.
How does this Tool Relate to my other classes?:
In Foundations of teaching, Dr. Chapman mentioned the other day that all grades should be ]between the teacher and the student. Grades should never be shared with anyone else. This is why teachers should never allow other students to handout graded papers. This could be solved if the grade was found in the QR codes so even if a student did handout the papers they would not know the grade.
What did I enjoy about creating the Artifact?:
What I enjoyed about creating about the artifact was with the QR codes it was different than any other artifact that we have used before and it allows for the teacher to make simple assignments more engaging and interesting for the students.

My co-op did not want many questions or QR since she thought it may overwhelm the students so I only did nine QR codes and other questions that were open-ended that did not have a QR code answer.
